Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting children in their early primary education? We are currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic Welsh-speaking KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school setting in Cardiff from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young learners in Key Stage 1, helping to support their academic, social, and emotional development through the medium of Welsh in a positive and engaging classroom environment. This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, childcare practitioners, or individuals looking to begin a career in education - especially those interested in early learning and primary education.
- Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils in KS1
- Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and phonics activities
- Encouraging Welsh language development through daily interaction
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and communication skills
- Helping to maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Confident spoken and written Welsh
- A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for working with young children
- Previous experience in a school or childcare setting (desirable but not essential)
