A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Urmston is looking for a dedicated SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant to join the Early Years team from September. The role supports children within the EYFS setting who have additional learning and developmental needs, helping to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage with Special Educational Needs
- Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day
- Assist with speech, language, communication, and social development
- Support pupils with routines, transitions, and classroom engagement
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
Qualifications & skills
- Experience working within EYFS or supporting children with SEN
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of early childhood development and additional needs
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or childcare experience desirable
