We are looking for a patient, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in the Truro area from September. This is a full‑time, long‑term role with a potential transition to a permanent position.
About the Role
This is not typical day‑to‑day supply work. You will:
- Work consistently in one setting
- Be part of a close‑knit SEN team
- Build meaningful, long‑term relationships with pupils
- Receive strong support from experienced staff
- Have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role
You will be working within an Additionally Resourced Base (ARB) supporting pupils with a range of needs such as:
- Autism (ASC)
- Communication and interaction difficulties
- SEMH and regulation needs
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small‑group support
- Supporting routines, transitions and emotional regulation
- Adapting activities to support access to learning
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff
- Creating a calm, safe and structured environment
