We are looking for a patient, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in the Truro area from September. This is a full‑time, long‑term role with a potential transition to a permanent position.

About the Role

This is not typical day‑to‑day supply work. You will:

  • Work consistently in one setting
  • Be part of a close‑knit SEN team
  • Build meaningful, long‑term relationships with pupils
  • Receive strong support from experienced staff
  • Have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role

You will be working within an Additionally Resourced Base (ARB) supporting pupils with a range of needs such as:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • Communication and interaction difficulties
  • SEMH and regulation needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Supporting routines, transitions and emotional regulation
  • Adapting activities to support access to learning
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff
  • Creating a calm, safe and structured environment

Qualifications & Experience

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has experience working in SEN, care, or support settings

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position; in some cases the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
