SEMH Nurture Group Leader

Are you a creative teacher looking for a new challenge? Prospero Teaching is looking for a caring teacher to run a Nurture Group within a specialist vibrant and supportive secondary school based in Swinton. The role will start as soon as possible and may be on a temp-to-perm basis. The school caters for students with SEMH and complex needs.

We are looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic class teacher who will join a dedicated team. The teacher will have a passion for teaching and the ability to grow, nurture and develop children’s development and a range of strategies to maintain good behaviour management. You will be running a small class of six Year 10 and 11 students who all work well together. The students have been identified as having social communication needs, emotional regulation difficulties, and sensory processing differences, typically associated with autism. The school offers a therapeutic, nurturing environment with small class sizes and a strong multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead high quality learning within a nurture-based setting, supporting pupils who require a more personalised and relationship-focused approach to education.
  • Provide a safe, structured and supportive environment that helps pupils build confidence, resilience and positive learning habits.
  • Address behaviours linked to anxiety, communication challenges or emotional dysregulation.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • QTS, PGCE or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year is desirable, but not essential as Prospero Teaching offer free a course.
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
  • Two professional child related references
