We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist school supporting students aged 11‑16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), offering a nurturing and inclusive environment where young people can access the national curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs and work towards meaningful vocational qualifications for life beyond school.

Location: Smallfield, Surrey

Salary: £13.50 - £15.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Start time 8.15am - Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.45pm. Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm

Start date: As soon as possible

Key Duties:

  • Build positive, caring and supportive relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe, valued and able to engage fully in their learning.
  • Encourage independence and support pupils' personal development.
  • Assist the Class Teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom.
  • Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the school, adapting to different tasks as required to ensure smooth daily operations. (Occasional physical intervention may be required; full training will be provided.)
  • Support pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical and spiritual development.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
  • Team TEACH Training- desirable.
