A welcoming primary school in Bury is looking for a SEN Learning Mentor to join their team. This is a full-time opportunity with the potential to become permanent, ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term role within a supportive school environment. You’ll be working with pupils who need additional support to access learning, manage emotions, and feel confident in the classroom. This is a varied, hands-on role where building relationships is at the heart of everything.
You will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Help children with Autism, ADHD, and communication needs engage in learning
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Build strong, consistent relationships that support wellbeing and confidence
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support strategies
- Help create a classroom environment that is calm, structured, and inclusive
Responsibilities:
You’ll be a key part of helping pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Qualifications:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Is calm, patient, and resilient in their approach
- Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively
- Is proactive and confident working as part of a team
- Holds an Enhanced DBS (essential)
- Is available full-time and ready to start immediately
