A friendly and inclusive primary school in Bury is looking for a Primary SEN Support Assistant to join their team for the summer term. This role is all about supporting pupils who need a little extra help to feel confident, settled, and able to engage with learning. You'll be part of a team that values patience, consistency, and creating a positive environment for every child. You'll work closely with pupils across the school day, supporting both learning and wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting children with Autism and communication difficulties
  • Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and confident in lessons
  • Using consistent strategies to support positive behaviour
  • Creating a calm and structured environment where pupils feel secure
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff
Qualifications
  • Has experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN, particularly Autism
  • Is confident supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS (or is willing to obtain one)
  • Is patient, compassionate, and resilient
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
