About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our supportive team in Shrewsbury. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
- Promoting inclusion and supporting pupils\’ social and emotional development.
- Helping to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
- Supporting with personal care needs, where required.
- Liaising with teachers, SENCO, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
About You
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
- Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are an advantage, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
