Location: Stockton

Company: AK Teaching

Hours: 8:30-16:30 full time (term time)

Responsibilities

  • Term‑Time only, Mon to Friday 8:30-4:30pm
  • Starting ASAP
  • Teaching children who have a diagnosis of Autism
  • Teaching a primary curriculum to a small class of 10 and 11 year olds
  • Developing pupils' early social, communication and independence skills
  • Assisting with a tailored curriculum that supports individual pupils
  • This is a temporary role but has the potential of becoming permanent

Qualifications & Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience of teaching children who are diagnosed with Autism
  • Experience of planning and delivering a primary curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deliver a diverse curriculum across all age groups who have a variety of abilities
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Be dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK – we do not offer sponsorship so please do not apply unless you are able to live and work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
