A Local Authority in Cumbria is looking for a SEND Sufficiency Programme Lead.
Rate: £550 - £648/day (DOE)
Hours: Part time (22.5 hours, 3 days per week)
Location: Hybrid - home working and Kendal plus ability to travel round Westmorland and Furness

Role: We are seeking an experienced consultant to support the planning and delivery of SEND sufficiency as a core element of the Council's SEND Reform Plan. The consultancy will support the Council to ensure it has sufficient, sustainable and high‑quality local provision to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND, reduce reliance on high‑cost and distant placements, and improve outcomes in line with national SEND reforms.
Objectives of the Consultancy:
- Refresh the SEND Sufficiency Strategy and Delivery Plan aligned to the SEND Reform Plan
- Provide practical, delivery‑focused support to progress sufficiency actions
- Strengthen Council capability to manage SEND sufficiency sustainably over time
