About the Role

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN Tutor to join our team in the Macclesfield and Stockport area, starting in January 2026. This role involves delivering tailored, 1:1 education for students with complex Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, and those working below expected levels. We understand that every learner's journey is different, so we offer flexible hours to fit around your schedule. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of students who need extra support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver GCSE Maths and English lessons on a 1:1 basis, tailored to each student's learning needs.
  • Adapt lesson materials and pacing to support emotional regulation and accommodate different learning styles.
  • Help students develop subject knowledge, improve study skills, and build exam confidence.
  • Establish a consistent and trusting rapport with students to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Track student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents/carers or other relevant professionals.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English.
  • Experience working with SEN learners in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable Qualifications

  • PGCE in Secondary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience with students who have Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
