Salary: NJC Pay Scales Β£29,064 - Β£40,777 (dependent on experience)

Overview

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Cover Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Lambeth, supporting autistic children and young people with a range of learning needs. This role plays a vital part in ensuring continuity of learning by delivering and supervising planned lessons in the absence of the usual class teacher.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and supervise planned lessons in line with school policies.
  • Maintain responsibility for classroom management, pupil wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Support a broad, balanced and personalised curriculum.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum (KS1-KS4).
  • Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a special school or specialist setting.
  • Recent SEND-related training.
