About the Role

We are working closely with Schools in the South Tyneside area to provide specialist, one-to-one tuition and SEMH support for local students. We are recruiting qualified Tutors to deliver English and Maths tuition to students needing additional support to achieve their potential. We seek dedicated Tutors to support students who may be experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. Many learners may not be fully engaged with mainstream education and benefit from personalised tuition that combines academic support with SEMH strategies.

Tuition Delivery

  • Tuition is delivered in person, which may take place in:
  • Community venues
  • Alternative provision settings
  • Occasionally, students' home environments

  • Pay rate: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and experience

Your Role With Us

  • Deliver one-to-one or small-group tuition in Maths and English

  • Complete attendance records and progress reports

Eligibility Requirements

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience supporting students with SEMH needs
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS (child barred list) registered on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
  • Be able to provide references covering the last two years of employment or education
