A specialist SEMH provision in Manchester is seeking a committed SEMH Support Specialist to work with secondary-aged pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. Your Impact
In this role, you will be instrumental in helping pupils overcome barriers and rediscover their potential.
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Build strong, consistent relationships with students who may present with challenging behaviours
- Use calm, structured de-escalation strategies to manage conflict and support emotional regulation
- Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning approaches to individual needs
- Support pupils at risk of exclusion or transitioning from alternative provision
- Encourage resilience, accountability, and positive decision-making
- Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

- Have experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
