A welcoming primary school in Rossendale is seeking a qualified and experienced School Cook to support the preparation of healthy, nutritious meals for pupils, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of school food standards, allergen management, and safe food preparation within an educational setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals in line with School Food Standards
- Plan menus and manage food ordering
- Cater for special dietary requirements and allergens
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
- Work effectively as part of a school team
Essential Requirements
- NVQ / Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Food Preparation & Cooking
- Food Safety in Catering certificate (Level 2 or 3)
- Knowledge of allergen awareness and dietary needs
- Experience working in a school or similar setting
- Strong understanding of nutritional standards and H&S
