Location: Salford Pay: Β£112.50 per day Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Start: ASAP Contract: Long-term We are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join an SEN provision within a primary school in Salford.

The provision supports children with Autism, with the majority of pupils being non-verbal and requiring a high level of individualised support throughout the school day.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to support pupils with their learning, communication, emotional regulation and day-to-day development.

The role will involve helping children access classroom activities while providing a calm, consistent and supportive presence.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting children with Autism and complex SEN needs
  • Working with pupils who are predominantly non-verbal
  • Using visual communication systems and other communication strategies
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Helping pupils develop independence and confidence
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism/SEND
  • Experience supporting non-verbal children is highly desirable
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Confidence supporting children with communication and behavioural needs
  • A genuine passion for working within SEN education This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant or someone with relevant specialist experience looking for a long-term position within a supportive SEN provision.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2026) guidance and safer recruitment standards.
