We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established further education college in North Manchester for a committed and enthusiastic Behavioural support assistant to join their support team from September 2026. This full-time, long-term opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a supportive college environment.
The Role:
As a Behavioural support assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students with a range of additional needs across various courses. You will play a key role in enabling learners to access the curriculum and develop their independence. Students may present with:
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Mild to moderate learning difficulties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support in lessons
- Assisting in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials
- Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Supporting positive behaviour and classroom management
- Liaising with teaching staff and support services to meet individual learner needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with young people or adults with additional needs (education, care, or support setting)
