Reception SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism & Speech and Language Needs

Location: Newham

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £97 – £115 per day

We\’re looking for a warm and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception child in Newham. She has an EHCP, is autistic, and experiences speech and language difficulties. She\’s a happy, playful little girl who thrives with structure, consistency, and a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Working 1:1 in Reception, supporting learning, communication, and social development.
  • Using play-based activities in line with EYFS to build confidence and engagement.
  • Helping with speech and language development through fun, tailored strategies.
  • Supporting her emotional wellbeing and creating a positive, safe space to learn.
  • Personal care may be part of the role (to be confirmed).

Qualifications

  • Experience in EYFS and a good understanding of early years learning.
  • Knowledge of autism and ways to support children with communication needs.
  • A patient, caring, and creative approach to keep young learners engaged.
