Reception SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism & Speech and Language Needs
Location: Newham

Pay: £97 – £115 per day

We\’re looking for a warm and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception child in Newham. She has an EHCP, is autistic, and experiences speech and language difficulties. She\’s a happy, playful little girl who thrives with structure, consistency, and a nurturing approach.
Responsibilities
- Working 1:1 in Reception, supporting learning, communication, and social development.
- Using play-based activities in line with EYFS to build confidence and engagement.
- Helping with speech and language development through fun, tailored strategies.
- Supporting her emotional wellbeing and creating a positive, safe space to learn.
- Personal care may be part of the role (to be confirmed).
Qualifications
- Experience in EYFS and a good understanding of early years learning.
- Knowledge of autism and ways to support children with communication needs.
- A patient, caring, and creative approach to keep young learners engaged.
- Strong communication skills to work with teachers, parents, and therapists.
