Primary Tutor

Overview

Primary Tutor. We are currently recruiting an experienced 1:1 Tutor in Preston, ideally with experience within a SEN setting. We are a Teaching Agency that aims to positively impact young people\\\’s lives by supporting their development and education. Our Children\\\’s Education Team works with local authorities throughout the North-West to support vulnerable pupils currently outside of mainstream education. Subjects areas include: Math, English, Science.

Position Details

Location: within the community or pupils\\\’ home in Preston

Position: Primary Tutor

Type of work: Contract

Start date: ASAP

Duration: ongoing support

Hours: 8am – 4pm (occasional opportunities after school 3-4pm and evening may occur). Sessions can range between 1-4 hours on a daily or weekly basis.

Minimum rate of pay: GBP25/hr

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service
• Overseas Police Check (if applicable)
• 2 years of professional references
• QTS or equivalent tutoring experience
• Experience working within a SEN setting (preferred, but not required)

Responsibilities

• 1:1 tutoring to support pupil learning within a SEN context
• Create and deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis
• Apply a therapeutic approach as needed to re-engage students with learning
• Provide structure in the pupil\\\’s daily routine and support educational development
• Assist pupils to return to an educational setting
• Submit weekly progression reports to Prospero and monitor progression with each pupil

Further Information

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis. The aim is to provide structure in the pupil\\\’s daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports.
