We are seeking an experienced and passionate Primary Teacher to join a brand-new specialist education setting opening in Autumn 2026. This opportunity is to establish a nurturing, inclusive, and ambitious learning environment for children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Monitor pupil progress and report to parents, carers, and senior leaders.
- Lead a subject or curriculum area and support colleagues where appropriate.
- Manage and supervise classroom support staff.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally Autism.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum up to GCSE level.
- Excellent classroom management, planning, and assessment skills.
- Ability to remain calm, resilient, and positive in challenging situations.
- Postgraduate qualification in Autism or SEN specialism.
- Experience working within a specialist or special school setting.
