Long Term Futures is recruiting for a 1:1 SEND teaching assistant in a school located in the DE23 area.
Responsibilities
- Working with high level SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD and SEMH within KS1/2 year groups.
- Provide 1:1 support to students where needed with the possibility of working to an adapted curriculum.
- Monitoring and feeding back on the children's progress to provide cohesiveness.
- Support children who may have learning disabilities and behavioural needs, possibly working with an adapted curriculum.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- SEMH, SEND and behavioural support experience.
- Able to work effectively within a team.
- Positive, proactive and empathetic, with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to promote independence and positive behaviour.
- Understanding of SEND strategies and behavioural techniques.
- Any relevant qualifications is helpful but not essential e.g. Team Teach, Manual Handling etc.
- Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- Able to commit to at least one academic year with possibility for an extension.
