Long Term Futures is recruiting for a 1:1 SEND teaching assistant in a school located in the DE23 area.

Responsibilities

  • Working with high level SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD and SEMH within KS1/2 year groups.
  • Provide 1:1 support to students where needed with the possibility of working to an adapted curriculum.
  • Monitoring and feeding back on the children's progress to provide cohesiveness.
  • Support children who may have learning disabilities and behavioural needs, possibly working with an adapted curriculum.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • SEMH, SEND and behavioural support experience.
  • Able to work effectively within a team.
  • Positive, proactive and empathetic, with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to promote independence and positive behaviour.
  • Understanding of SEND strategies and behavioural techniques.
  • Any relevant qualifications is helpful but not essential e.g. Team Teach, Manual Handling etc.
  • Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Able to commit to at least one academic year with possibility for an extension.
