We are proud to be working with a large SEN school located in Greenwich, dedicated to transforming the lives of young people and adults with a variety of special educational needs and/or disabilities. The school supports learners with a broad spectrum of needs, including profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), complex communication challenges, behavioural difficulties, and specific medical conditions. Each student follows a highly individualised programme tailored to help them achieve their personal goals, gain greater independence, and integrate more fully into their communities.

We are seeking a passionate and caring Teaching Assistant with experience in PMLD to join a friendly and committed team. In this role, you will support lecturers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning sessions, helping to meet individual and group needs while promoting student progress and wellbeing. You will play a key role in supporting learners both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of learning activities within assigned curriculum areas.
  • Assist in implementing individual learning plans and adapting resources to meet student needs.
  • Support students with personal care, communication, and mobility where required.
  • Help monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Uphold a strong commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Experience supporting learners with PMLD is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learners.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Live in or be within easy commuting distance of Kingston.
