We are seeking compassionate and skilled tutors to deliver 1:1 in-person tuition to KS4 learners in the NG9 area of Nottingham. The students you'll support may be out of school due to SEMH needs, school anxiety, or disrupted education. Your role is to re-engage them in learning and rebuild confidence through personalised, patient support.
The CatchUp Academy is an Approved Alternative Provision and Specialist Tuition Partner for Nottinghamshire, and due to high referral demand, tutors can take on as little or as much work as suits their schedule.
What You Will Do- Deliver 1:1 English, Maths and/or Science tuition at KS4 level
- Teach in the student's home or a suitable community setting
- Build positive, trusting relationships to support emotional engagement
- Plan and deliver accessible learning tailored to the student's ability level
- Communicate with parents, schools and professionals to support progress
- Record clear session feedback and learning outcomes
- Typically 6-15 hours per week per student
- Sessions take place during school hours (9am-3pm)
- No evenings or weekends
- Ability to take on additional students if you want to increase your hours
- Experience teaching or tutoring KS4 (school or tuition background)
- Understanding of SEMH needs and student-led, relational practice
- Calm, patient and resilient approach to engagement
- Able to work independently and travel within the local area
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
