Full-time, long-term supply from as soon as possible until May half term, reducing to one day per week thereafter. This SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated, consistent support to a pupil within a supportive and well-organised school environment. The role is full time initially, with the possibility of reducing to one day per week after May half term, and is well suited to a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant who is calm, resilient, and confident in supporting pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs throughout the school day.
  • Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation in line with individual support plans.
  • Follow and implement a clear risk assessment, with guidance and support provided by the school.
  • Use positive behaviour strategies to support the pupil, recognising that physical behaviours have significantly reduced.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to adapt activities and support progress.
  • Promote a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain clear communication with staff regarding progress, behaviour, and well-being.
  • Support safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times.

  • Experience working as a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with additional needs.
