Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Maths Lead to promote the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEND School Settings in Morpeth on a full‑time and long‑term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long‑term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role

The role will involve:

  • Planning and teaching engaging and informative Maths lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
  • Working with Primary and Secondary School aged pupils within an SEND setting who have a wide range of SEND such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLD and PMLD.
  • Designing, planning and implementing a Maths curriculum.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
  • Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
About the School

The role is based in an inspirational SEND setting in Morpeth. The School supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary School age range with a wide range of SEND.

Pay, Hours and Contract
  • Pay - Between £140-220 per day
  • Hours - 08:30-15:30
  • Contract - Full‑time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2027
  • Start Date - ASAP
  • Location - Morpeth
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • Maths Teaching experience
  • Strong Behaviour Management skills
  • Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with an ability to build rapport
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
  • A genuine passion for Teaching and supporting young people develop their skills
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
