Job Description

This role involves forming trusting relationships, meeting students where they are, and supporting their re-engagement with learning and life goals. You will support their personal development by acting as a positive and consistent role model.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build a strong, empathetic connection with students to encourage trust and openness.
  2. Deliver individual mentoring sessions to help students understand and regulate their emotions.
  3. Provide guidance on managing behaviour, avoiding negative influences, and building positive coping strategies.
  4. Work collaboratively with parents, carers, teachers, and professionals to develop and maintain a structured, supportive plan tailored to the student\’s needs.
  5. Foster a safe, calm, and non-judgemental space where students feel seen and heard.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 1 year experience working one-to-one with children or young people experiencing behavioural or mental health difficulties.
  2. Right to work in the UK.
  3. Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
