A welcoming primary school in Harpurhey is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Learning Mentor to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis starting ASAP. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, build confidence and thrive within the school environment.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Supporting children with communication, emotional and learning needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment
- Helping pupils develop socially, emotionally and academically
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with SEN or additional needs
- Patient, nurturing and proactive approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Previous school, youth work or support work experience is desirable
