Are you a kind and compassionate teaching assistant with experience supporting complex needs? We are currently recruiting for teaching assistants to join a large SEN high school in the Gorton area. The school supports pupils aged 11-19 with PMLD. Support workers who can support these students are also welcome.
About the School
You will be supporting children aged 11+ years old with a number of additional needs, often classed as complex. In addition to their learning difficulties, students in this base have multiple medical needs too including epilepsy, breathing difficulties and tube feeding. Students have difficulty communicating and are non-verbal, therefore alternative communication is used. The learning development is at sensory stage and personal care is required.
Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Experience, Training & Qualifications
- Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
- Team Teach training is highly desired
- Previous experience supporting complex needs in a residential or school setting
Eligibility
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
