Long Term Futures is looking for an active and engaged Sports Assistant for a secondary school in Wandsworth. This role operates on a Monday to Thursday schedule (21 hours per week) and is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity. A permanent review will be held in June/July for the right candidate to transition into a long-term position within the school.
Role Responsibilities
- Supporting the PE department in the delivery of various sports and physical activities.
- Motivating and encouraging secondary school students to participate and excel in sports.
- Managing and maintaining sports equipment and assisting with the setup of lessons and fixtures.
- Providing 1-on-1 or small group coaching to support student development and inclusion.
- Ensuring a safe and positive environment for students during physical education and break times.
Essential Candidate Requirements
- Experience working with children or young adults, preferably in a sports or secondary school environment.
- A strong interest in physical education and a background in sports or coaching.
- The ability to build rapport with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Availability to work 21 hours across Monday to Thursday each week.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
