London Full-Time On-site

A thriving three‑form entry primary school in East London is looking for an experienced SENCO to join their supportive and collaborative SLT from October half term. The school has a strong reputation for inclusion, a warm community feel and a leadership team who genuinely invest in SEND provision.

This is a classroom‑based SENCO role, but most of your time will be spent out of class leading SEND strategy, coordinating provision and supporting teachers. You'll also teach some lessons when required - particularly during annual reviews, observations or when modelling best practice.

About the Role

  • Leading whole‑school SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Managing EHCPs, annual reviews, graduated approach cycles and targeted interventions
  • Working closely with teachers, TAs, external agencies and the SLT
  • Conducting lesson observations and supporting inclusive teaching
  • Delivering occasional teaching sessions when needed
  • Maintaining accurate SEND records and ensuring statutory compliance
  • Supporting parents and carers through meetings and SEND pathways
  • Contributing to whole‑school inclusion and strategic development

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS
  • Strong primary SENCO experience
  • Excellent knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP processes
  • Confident communicator able to work with staff, families and external professionals
  • Commitment to the role until July 2025
  • Start: October half term
  • Duration: Full academic year
  • Interviews: Taking place immediately

Note: No parking available, but the school is well connected by several Overground and Underground stations.

Could This Be Your Next Step?

Do you already hold the NASENCo qualification and want to lead SEND in a school where inclusion genuinely matters? Are you looking for a role where you can shape strategy but still stay connected to the classroom? Would you thrive in a supportive SLT environment that values collaboration and professional autonomy?
