On behalf of our Local Authority client in South East England, Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) Officer to lead the local authority's work in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they transition to adulthood.
The Senior PFA SEND Officer will be responsible for overseeing and providing quality assurance for Education, Health and Care (EHC) processes for young people with SEND aged 14-25.
Essential Requirements- Local Authority experience with a strong understanding of SEN legislation, particularly the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
- Experience of managing a small team and a working knowledge of the Preparing for Adulthood framework.
- Proven ability to provide quality assurance and improve practice across EHC processes.
- Oversee and quality assure Education, Health and Care (EHC) processes for young people aged 14-25, ensuring statutory compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Provide advice and guidance to case officers on complex cases, including preparing for annual reviews and phase transfers.
- Co-ordinate multi-agency collaboration to ensure person-centred support for young people with SEND.
- Able to prioritise competing demands to meet statutory deadlines.
- Ability to analyse complex information, monitor performance, and use data to inform decision making.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain strong working relationships.
