Help Every Child Reach Their Potential. We are looking for an experienced Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated support team at a well-respected, inclusive primary school.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to support pupils with SEND
- Work alongside teachers to adapt lessons and learning resources to meet individual needs
- Support pupils with their academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development
- Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning programmes
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO
- Help develop strategies that promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Provide guidance and support to other Teaching Assistants when required
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary or specialist school
- Confidence working with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
- Patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and achieving the best outcomes for every child
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
