Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and supportive English & Maths GCSE Tutor to provide 1:1 and small-group tuition to secondary-aged students (KS3/KS4) across Bexley.
This role involves supporting students working towards GCSE English and Maths, helping them build subject knowledge, confidence, and effective exam techniques. The successful tutor will take a student-centred and structured approach, tailoring sessions to individual learning needs and working collaboratively with families and schools to support academic progress.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, personalised tuition in GCSE English and Maths
- Support students with exam preparation, revision strategies, and coursework
- Identify learning gaps and adapt teaching methods to support progress
- Build students' confidence, motivation, and independent learning skills
- Track progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents/carers
- Prepare students for mock exams and final GCSE assessments
- Experience tutoring English and/or Maths at GCSE level
- Strong knowledge of the KS3/KS4 curriculum and GCSE exam boards
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships with young people
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Teaching or tutoring qualification (e.g. QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting students with exam anxiety or low confidence
- Background in tutoring, schools, or alternative education settings
