Protocol Education is recruiting teaching assistants from creative backgrounds such as art, music or performing arts to work in a supportive primary special needs school in Wandsworth. The school is looking for assistants who are keen to apply their creative skills on a one-to-one basis and within lessons, to encourage engagement and help students access the work in a more diverse approach. Experience is useful but not required; candidates should be passionate about working in education and comfortable working with special needs.

The role:

  • Full time role
  • Monday to Friday – 8:45 to 15:15
  • Located in Wandsworth, London
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis and be part of a designated class
  • Teach vocabulary and numeracy in a creative approach
  • Assist the teacher in lessons such as sensory play, music, art and cooking
  • Follow students’ individualized plans and help students reach their targets

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
