We are currently recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across St Helens and Liverpool. We are an education provider committed to making a positive impact on young people's lives by supporting their learning, development, and emotional wellbeing. We work closely with schools and local authorities to provide additional classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with a range of SEN.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Supporting students with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
  • Helping pupils to engage with learning and access the curriculum
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development

Contract / Position Details

  • Location: Primary and secondary schools across St Helens & Liverpool
  • Type of Work: Full-time or part-time
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Hours: School hours (typically 8:30am – 3:30pm)
  • Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Proven experience working with SEN students (school, alternative provision, or support setting)
  • Understanding of a range of special educational needs
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
  • Two professional references
  • A patient, resilient, and supportive approach
  • (Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential)
