A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stockport is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. The role will involve supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support required to thrive in both their learning and social development. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive SEN team and working closely with teachers and families to provide the best outcomes for children with additional needs.
Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN
- Helping pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning activities
- Supporting emotional regulation, communication and social interaction
- Assisting with learning plans and working towards EHCP targets where applicable
- Promoting independence and confidence in and outside of the classroom
- Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO and parents to track progress
What We\’re Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs (essential)
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach, with strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet the individual needs of pupils
- A team player with excellent communication skills
- Experience with Autism, ADHD or other additional needs (desirable)
