Teaching Assistant / Creative Learning Support Assistant - Leicester
Luma Education Recruitment is working with a new Alternative Provision in Leicester to recruit caring, creative and nurturing Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants to join their growing team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working creatively with children and young people and wants to make a genuine difference to pupils who may have found traditional education challenging.
The provision has a strong nurturing, relationship-led approach, creating a calm and supportive environment where pupils can feel safe, valued and encouraged to engage.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people with their learning, development and wellbeing.
The role will involve helping pupils engage through creative, practical and personalised learning activities, adapting your approach to suit individual needs and interests.
You may be supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism, complex needs or other barriers to education, so patience, empathy and a flexible approach are essential.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting pupils with learning and development
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Helping deliver creative, practical and engaging learning activities f
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Creating a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment
- Adapting activities to suit individual learning needs
- Encouraging pupils to participate and try new things
- Working closely with colleagues and other professionals
- Supporting pupils across different environments and activities
What We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are naturally caring, patient and creative, with a genuine interest in helping children and young people succeed.
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Support Worker, Childcare Practitioner or similar would be beneficial, but experience isn't everything.
This could also be an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop a career in SEND, Alternative Provision or education.
