Prospero Teaching works with local councils and SEND teams across the UK, providing educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND. We are looking for a tutor with Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent to provide KS3-KS4 maths and English support on a 1:1 basis to students who are not currently accessing mainstream education. The students have diagnoses of autism and ADHD and are out of education for some time; they require support with core subjects at a lower level. The tutor will assess their current ability, re‑introduce education into their routine while a suitable school provision is found. Lessons will take place either in a local library or the young person’s home.

Position Details

  • Position: KS3‑KS4 Tutor
  • Hours: 10‑15 hours a week (during the school day)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
  • UK classroom teaching experience
  • Creative, patient, and willing to think outside of the box

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child‑barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
  • Two professional child‑related references
