We are seeking a committed and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Kidderminster. In this role, you will support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities who benefit from a nurturing, structured, and consistent learning environment.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people who may present with social, emotional, and behavioural needs alongside additional learning requirements.
Responsibilities- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to access learning and achieve individual targets
- Promote positive behaviour using de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo, and pastoral staff to implement individual education and behaviour plans
- Support pupils' emotional regulation, engagement, and overall wellbeing
- Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
- Record pupil progress and contribute to reviews and meetings as required
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
