We are looking for SEN Learning Support Assistants to work at our Special Needs Schools in and around Hounslow. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of students with special educational needs, supporting their academic and personal development within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our students receive the individualised attention and support they require to thrive. Working closely with classroom teachers and the wider pastoral team, you will provide tailored assistance to students with a variety of additional needs, including physical, cognitive, and behavioural challenges.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-to-one or small-group support to students with special educational needs
- Assisting in the adaptation of lesson materials and resources to meet individual student needs
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Collaborating closely with classroom teachers and the wider pastoral team to ensure a cohesive approach to student support
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians
- Participating in the planning and delivery of targeted interventions and extracurricular activities
- Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance your SEN teaching expertise
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in teaching, learning support, or a related field
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for inclusive education
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
