Salary: Β£28,000 - Β£37,800, dependent on experience

Location: Horsham, West Sussex

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, 8.45am - 4.30pm; Tuesday, 8.45am - 5.00pm

About Our School

Apple Orchard is an expanding therapeutic community with a small secondary school attached. All students are looked-after and have SEMH challenges; as such, we are looking for a PSHE/Careers Teacher with a passion for working with those who are most vulnerable and who can build trusting, solid relationships.

Apple Orchard School is an integral part of a therapeutic community consisting of residential care and a therapy team. The Headteacher leads an experienced team of teachers and teaching assistants. Between them, they offer a wide range of subjects that draw from the National Curriculum and GCSE pathways as a starting point.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • The ability to motivate and encourage young people
  • High expectations and a clear vision of educational excellence
  • Outstanding classroom ability and behaviour management practice
  • The ability to create and deliver stimulating programmes of study in PSHE, Careers, vocational subjects and ASDAN
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as part of our hardworking, supportive small team
  • The ability to teach other subjects
  • Must be a driver, able to drive both manual and automatic vehicles

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Apple Orchard School.
