Year 6 Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Autism) – Harrow
Location: Harrow. Start date: ASAP 2026. Salary: £90-£105 per day (PAYE). Job type: Full time, long term. Working hours: Monday – Friday (no weekends).
Responsibilities
- Support a Year 6 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who has challenging behaviour.
- Assist with lesson delivery and classroom management, helping the student to engage in learning activities.
- Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the school’s SEN plan.
- Maintain accurate records and support the SENCO and teachers in monitoring the student’s progress.
Requirements
- Experience working with students with special needs OR graduation from a relevant degree (Psychology, Health and Social Care, Speech and Language).
- Patience, empathy and strong interpersonal skills.
- Initiative and a drive to help students succeed.
- Ability to focus on tasks and work independently within a team.
- Right to work in the UK and experience working in the UK.
- Valid DBS check (Enhanced) and willingness to undergo safeguarding training.
