Focus: 1:1 Tuition for Secondary-Aged Students not currently in school in person at Library or their home
Provision Type: Educated Other Than at School (EOTAS)
Pay: £25 per hour, umbrella or self-employed
Hours: 3 or 6 hours per day, Term Time Only. Monday to Friday. Start: Immediate start to end of academic year at least.
Empower Young People Beyond the Classroom. We are proud to be partnering with a forward-thinking alternative provision to recruit dedicated EOTAS Tutors to deliver personalised educational programmes to GCSE students not currently in school. These students are currently educated outside of a traditional school environment, and your role will be pivotal in helping them re-engage with learning and build brighter futures. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced educators looking to make a meaningful impact in a flexible, non-mainstream setting.
Role: As an EOTAS Tutor, you will work closely with secondary-aged learners, either one-to-one or in small groups, in community-based settings or at home. Your focus will be on promoting academic progress, emotional wellbeing and personal growth while building strong relationships with both learners and their families. Students will require support with KS4 learning (Year 11 students) following a long period of absence from school.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored lessons aligned with GCSEs
- Adapt your teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student
- Support learning across a variety of settings, including homes and community venues
- Collaborate with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and holistic support
- Foster trust and motivation through patient, flexible and creative approaches
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing best practices where appropriate
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience supporting students with GCSEs
- Qualified Teaching Status
- Solid knowledge of the secondary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- Strong adaptability, empathy and resilience in varied learning environments
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of safeguarding
- A full UK driving licence is preferred due to travel across settings
