We are delighted to be working with a welcoming and supportive school in Glossop to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA, Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, leading targeted interventions, and helping pupils achieve their full potential within an inclusive and nurturing environment.
Role
- Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, you'll provide high-quality classroom support while helping to create engaging learning experiences for pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Delivering planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
- Leading one-to-one and small-group interventions to support pupil progress.
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including SEMH, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and other additional learning needs.
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Implementing behaviour support strategies, including PRICE or Team Teach approaches where appropriate.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing constructive feedback to teaching staff.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and the wider school team to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
You
- HLTA status or be working towards a Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Previous experience as an HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar educational role.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASC, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
- Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to supporting learning.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
