I'm currently supporting a specialist provision in County Durham that is seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join their team this academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with experience or a strong interest in:

  • SEND
  • Reading & phonics
  • Primary teaching
  • Key Stage 3 teaching

We are looking for a QTS-qualified teacher to deliver English, reading and phonics to a neurodivergent SEND class who are KS4 age. This group would particularly benefit from someone with a nurturing, primary-focused approach, or experience teaching at Key Stage 3.

Alongside leading the main class, responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering reading sessions to other classes
  • Overseeing and administering reading assessments and tests

The role is based within a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit). Experience in a similar setting is highly desirable, as is a strong understanding of PRU environments. The successful candidate will be proactive, resilient, and confident in supporting pupils with a range of complex needs.

Full-time 1-year temporary post with strong potential to transition into a permanent position. Start date: within this academic year (TBC).
