Overview

A nurturing and inclusive mainstream primary school in Lewisham is looking for a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join their team. This role is within their EYFS provision, supporting children in Nursery and/or Reception, and forms part of their wraparound care service. The role may involve working with children with SEND, so a calm, compassionate and flexible approach is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting children aged 2-5 during breakfast, daytime, and after-school sessions.
  • Creating a calm, engaging, and nurturing environment.
  • Building strong, secure relationships with key children and their families.
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for children with additional needs, if required.
  • Helping to implement routines, behaviour support strategies, and individual care plans.
  • Working closely with the EYFS team, SENCO, and external professionals when needed.

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with EYFS-aged children.
  • An understanding of SEND and how to support children with emotional or behavioural needs.
  • A flexible and proactive approach – wraparound care role, reliability is key.
  • A calm, caring and patient attitude.
  • A genuine passion for supporting early development.
