Job Overview: M&M Supply is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a progressive Multi Academy Trust for an experienced Senior Principal to provide strategic and operational leadership across Alternative Provision (AP) settings in Devon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and line management to Regional Academy Leaders
  • Act as the key link between academies and the Executive Team
  • Drive delivery of Trust‑wide strategy, improvement plans, and priorities
  • Ensure consistent implementation of policies, values, and operational frameworks
  • Support governance, accountability, and effective partnership working
  • Lead high‑quality teaching, learning, and curriculum development across settings
  • Use data and evidence‑informed practice to improve outcomes
  • Ensure strong literacy and reading strategies are embedded
  • Drive ambitious, inclusive curriculum delivery aligned to statutory requirements
  • Promote continuous professional development and innovation in teaching
  • Champion inclusive education for pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional needs
  • Lead behaviour, attendance, and pastoral systems that are trauma‑informed
  • Ensure early identification and effective intervention strategies
  • Build strong partnerships with families, local authorities, and external agencies
  • Maintain robust safeguarding and child protection practices across all sites
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture aligned with statutory requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, health & safety, and data protection standards
  • Lead and develop senior leadership teams and wider staff
  • Drive performance management, appraisal, and talent development
  • Promote staff wellbeing and a positive organisational culture
  • Oversee effective budget management and resource allocation
  • Ensure value for money and financial sustainability
  • Maintain safe, high‑quality learning environments across all sites

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Significant senior leadership experience in education
  • Proven track record of school improvement and raising attainment
  • Strong experience supporting SEN, SEMH, and vulnerable learners
  • Expertise in safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience leading teaching, curriculum, and assessment development
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working with governance structures and accountability frameworks

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience within Alternative Provision (AP), PRU, or Special Schools
  • Experience supporting multiple schools or regional improvement
  • Knowledge of Trust‑wide systems and centralised education models
  • Coaching, mentoring, and system leadership experience
  • Degree‑level qualification or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Evidence of ongoing leadership CPD
  • NPQH or equivalent senior leadership qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification in education or leadership
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business use required)
  • Willingness to travel across Devon
  • Resilient, flexible, and solution‑focused leadership approach
