Position: Primary School Teacher – Wickford (Start Date: ASAP)

About the role:

Provide teaching and support to pupils with behavioural and alternative provision needs in small class settings, helping them re‑engage with learning.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teach in small classes to students removed from mainstream or placed in Alternative Provision.
  • Implement behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support pupils’ learning and emotional development.

Qualifications and experience:

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with behavioural needs, SEMH, or Alternative Provision settings (highly desirable).
  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills.
  • Up‑to‑date safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • DBS check – enhanced child barred list on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
  • Provide two professional child‑related references.

Employment details:

  • Type of work: Behavioural support / Alternative Provision teaching.
  • Hours: School hours (approx. 8:30 am – 4:00 pm).
  • Pay: From £125 per day.
  • Duration: Ongoing / Long‑term. Full time.
