Job Title: EHCP Coordinator / Assessment Officer

Location: South East England, Kent

Working Pattern: Hybrid – Office presence required 3 days per week

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary Range: Up To £37,000 per annum (DOE)

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised EHCP Coordinator to join our busy Education, Health and Care (EHC) Assessment Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in shaping positive outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the statutory Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process and drafting high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You\\\’ll work collaboratively with schools, professionals, families, and young people to ensure that each plan is legally compliant, person-centred, and outcome-focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload and ensure compliance with the 20-week process.
  • Draft and finalise high-quality, legally compliant EHCPs.
  • Liaise with families, schools, and professionals to co-produce plans.
  • Maintain accurate case management records and support tribunal processes.

Requirements

  • Previous local authority SEND experience (essential).
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) & Children and Families Act (2014).
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Confidence in working collaboratively with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals.

Additional Information

  • This is a permanent, full-time role.
  • Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days per week office-based.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Applicants must have previous local authority SEND experience to be considered.
