About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient and resilient 1:1 Tutor to support a 9-year-old pupil in a home-based setting in Egham. The pupil presents with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and requires a consistent, nurturing approach to support engagement with learning and emotional regulation. This role is ideal for someone who values relationship-based practice and can provide a calm, structured environment. You will deliver personalised sessions tailored to the pupil's individual needs, with a focus on building trust, supporting emotional regulation and re-engaging with learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke 1:1 sessions tailored to SEMH needs
- Build a strong, trusting relationship to support engagement
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and ability
- Provide a structured and consistent approach to learning
- Work closely with parents and external professionals
- Track and report on student progress
Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs
- Strong understanding of emotional regulation strategies
- A calm, patient and resilient nature
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Experience in tutoring, SEN, youth work or similar (desirable)
- Relevant qualifications (QTS, SEN, Psychology, etc. - desirable but not essential)
